It Arrived!

So....

D came home today with a big box in his hands.
My juicer is here! A lot quicker than I thought it would be.
Next Thursday is his birthday, and my mom is coming over. I'll be making dinner and baking a birthday cake.
So I'm waiting until the Wednesday after that to start my fast because I'll have a few days off of work in a row to rest up and start feeling better after the initial detox.

I will start a light exercise regimen of walking and light weight lifting 2 weeks after the start of my fast.

So the fast will go from September 12th to October 11th.
Then about a two week break, and I'll start another 10 day fast, and do a 10 day pattern, alternating between fasting and eating until April 20th of next year.

I haven't thought past that point.

I'm excited and nervous.
I am going to do this.

Turning Over a New (Kale) Leaf...

So...hey there.
I've been on This site a long time, and have always felt supported by my followers.

As some of you may know, I've struggled with my weight and self image for...well...most of my life.

With the date of my wedding looming ever nearer I figured I would get rid of the tired old page, and revamp completely.

It's time I learned how to take care of myself. No more crash diets, diet pills, starving, and binge-eating.

I often browse the "Social and Cultural Documentary" section of Netflix stream, and a few weeks ago I came across a documentary by the name of "Fat, Sick, and Nearly Dead

The focus of the documentary is a man named Joe, who is overweight and suffering from an autoimmune disease, and decides to go on a day fast, where he will consume nothing but the juice of fresh vegetables and fruits for 60 days in order to regain his health.

No surprise, it works. He loses upwards of 70 pounds and within months after, is active and healthy and free of medication.

I became so interested in the subject that I did some research, and have been discovering the health benefits of micro nutrient foods.

I have decided that in an attempt to finally break free of the crash dieting, disordered eating, and body image issues, that I will embark on this 60 day juice fasting journey, and make juicing a regular part of my day not just for the next eight months, but for the rest of my life. I am ready I think that I have finally found the key to opening up a whole new life.

I have ordered a Breville juicer and will be posting frequently on my progress.
Please Follow, and hopefully be inspired :)
