Getting Closer...

I'll be starting my 60 day juice cleanse on the 11th of this month, 8 days from today.
I needed to navigate my schedule to make sure that I would have a few days off of work to detox.

I've been experimenting with my new juicer and substituting fruit and veggie juices for my morning coffee and breakfast this past week - in hopes that it will help my detox go a little smoother- and every combination has been sublime.
I picked up a few things in the produce section, the cucumber adds a fresh, clean taste to the juice, and is composed of mostly water so it is ideal for juicing, adds lots of liquid to some of the other produce that might yield less,  plus they're on sale 3 for a dollar in my local supermarket :)

Here are a few of the different combinations D (my fiance) and I have tried out this past week. I can't wait to get a watermelon and some pineapple on my next trip to the store!

red apple, cucumber, grape, and mango- the mango added lots of sugary goodness, I didn't even miss my morning coffee!
red apple and grape- simple and sweet, had a great fresh flavor.
cucumber, green apple, romaine lettuce, and grapes
mango, strawberry, and cucumber

It's been a long day, and I'm tired. On top of a full day's work I had a 3 and a half hour chemistry class this evening and just got home a couple of hours ago.

D will be turning 26 on Thursday! This is the main reason I've put my fast off until next week. I wanted to make his birthday special, and we've invited over some family to celebrate. What's one more week? lol.

I'll keep you all posted in the days before my cleanse, and I will write regularly, detailing every aspect of this juice fasting journey.

Maybe I can inspire someone to take on the challenge :)
